Journal Entry 4


Date: 18. 5 . 2025

Plan:

  1.  the player finds three fuses in the upper floor rooms and plants these in the fusebox
  2.  the circuit box opens after all the fuses are put into the fusebox
  3.  the player then solves the circuit box puzzle
  4.  this opens the bookcase secret door leading to the secret room of the ritual that haunts the house
  5.  player gets his hands on the gun in the secret room and uses it to kill the zombie, thereby opening the door to the entrance and escaping through it.

Due to lack of time to create devlogs before, this devlog will contain two states (before feedback and after feedback).

Before Feedback 

Activity:

  • Added upper floor furniture
  • Completed the upper floor gameplay
  • Added a fusebox (requires three fuses)
  • Added a circuit puzzle that would be unlocked after completing the fusebox

Notes:

I could not get the circuitbox to open the bookcase so due to time constraints, I enabled the fusebox to open the bookcase as I needed to submit the project for the feedback session. Additionally, the gun would not work and I had to limit the end of the level to finding the gun for now.

After Feedback

Activity:

  • Added hiding spots in multiple places on the ground floor
  • Fixed zombie clipping through doors.
  • Bounded the house area so the player cannot leave and go away.
  • The game file size is fixed now (from 3.2 GB to to 2 GB)
  • The stalker sounds are 3D now.
